Miranda’s Story
Long before Ischia became a fashion house, it was simply the world through the eyes of a little girl. Born and raised in El Salvador, Miranda Miguel grew up surrounded by textiles. Her family's textile company became her playground—a place where endless rolls of fabric, colors, textures, and craftsmanship sparked her imagination long before she understood what fashion truly was.
While most children spent their afternoons playing with toys, Miranda often found herself wandering through the factory alongside her father. On more than one occasion, the two would skip a day of school to spend time together among the fabrics. She would run through every corner of the warehouse, draping textiles around herself, experimenting with colors and textures, and imagining garments only she could see. At the time, she thought she was simply playing. She didn't realize she was discovering what would become her life's passion.
From an early age, Miranda possessed an independent and adventurous spirit. She was endlessly curious, always searching for new experiences and new perspectives. She believed that creativity is born from living—through people, places, cultures, and the stories that connect them. That curiosity eventually led her far beyond El Salvador.
Determined to broaden her perspective, Miranda traveled extensively, immersing herself in different cultures, discovering new forms of art and architecture, and meeting people from every corner of the world. Every destination taught her something different. Every experience became a source of inspiration. Rather than collecting souvenirs, she collected stories. Those stories would later become collections.
At just seventeen years old, while still in high school, Miranda decided to transform her lifelong passion into something tangible. What began as a small creative project was never meant to become a business. It was simply a way to express herself through design and to translate the stories she had experienced into garments. To her surprise, people connected with those stories. What started as a personal passion slowly grew into something much greater. Collection after collection, Ischia found its place, and the small project that began as a teenager's dream gradually became the foundation of her life's work.
Believing that creativity should be supported by knowledge, Miranda pursued a degree in International Business Management and Sustainability at the University of Queensland in Australia while furthering her education in Luxury Management. She returned home with a broader global perspective and a clear vision of the fashion house she wanted to build.
Through Ischia, she hopes to challenge expectations and demonstrate that world-class fashion can be imagined, designed, and handcrafted in El Salvador. Every collection she creates carries a piece of her home with it—not only through the hands that make each garment, but through the creativity, resilience, and passion that define its people.
Today, Miranda continues to design with the same curiosity that inspired her as a child wandering through her family's textile factory. She remains committed to creating collections that tell stories while sharing a different vision of El Salvador with the world—one defined by artistry, craftsmanship, and limitless creativity.
Because for Miranda, Ischia has never been just about building a fashion brand.
It is about proving that extraordinary things can come from extraordinary places, even if the world has yet to discover them.
